La E.D.A.R., conocida como , «Depuradora Municipal», es sin duda una de las instalaciones que mayor beneficio reporta a nuestra población. El servicio que desarrolla es impagable,no se comprende que todavía haya localidades que no cuenten con alguna instalación como ésta o similar. Vivir a día de hoy en un medio sostenible es indiscutible, porque de lo contrario acabaremos con todos los recursos.No hay mejor manera que empezar por algo tan indispensable como es el agua. Devolver a nuestro entorno el agua que ya hemos utilizado de una manera inocua es obligatorio.Esa labor la realiza esta indispensable instalación. Comprobar cómo entran los vertidos o el agua bruta  por medio del saneamiento a la estación depuradora y como es  devuelta, no deja indiferente a nadie.

Por medio de la canalización, que observamos en el primer vídeo,  llega el vertido procedente del saneamiento municipal con una media al día entre 7.000 y 8.000 m3 .Es canalizado hasta la Estación Depuradora, donde en primer lugar se inician las instalaciones de toma, seguida de elevación, pretratamiento (pozo de gruesos,rejas de desbaste y tamices para desbaste de finos ) y by-pass. Desde este punto el agua se dirige hacia el                                          reactor biológico, las balsas de activación, la decantación secundaria y la cloración , para finalmente restituir el agua tratada a la Laguna de Navaseca como podemos ver en el segundo vídeo.
 
La depuración se realiza a través de un proceso aeróbico,que consiste en un tratamiento biológico de las aguas residuales.Los tratamientos aeróbicos se utilizan para descomponer la materia orgánica mediante la utilización de oxígeno.
Los procesos biológicos aeróbicos utilizan colonias microbianas y oxígeno molecular para descomponer las sustancias orgánicas presentes en las aguas residuales. Los microbios se alimentan de sustancias biológicas indeseadas en el agua, generando agregados o flóculos de sustancias orgánicas y microorganismos que se depositan en la base del contenedor. Este lodo es estable y se utiliza para abonar los campos, previa solicitud y estudio de los mismos.

Estas aguas depuradas, que son introducidas a la Laguna de Navaseca,vuelven a ser depuradas de manera natural por  plantas  que se  encuentran en la laguna, llamadas macrofitas, que al realizar la fontosíntesis absorben materia orgánica que se encuentran en la laguna, como el fósforo o el nitrógeno, depurándola  de estas sustancias y  expulsando oxígeno, muy necesario para oxigenar el agua.
Hay que recordar que este agua termina infiltrandose en el subsuelo, llegando al nivel freático donde se encuentra el acuífero del cual la extraemos, para nuestro uso y consumo,motivo suficiente para tener claro que la depuración de aguas debe ser una labor incuestionable y obligatoria,si queremos mantener un medio sotenible.
