Décima victoria del año para el Club Saturno ‘Iberfirmes’

Esther Jiménez de los Galanes volvía a subir a lo más alto del podio el pasado sábado por la noche, en la Carrera de las Antorchas de Villanueva de los Infantes. Alfonso Navarro quedó subcampeón entre los chicos. El club daimieleño ha ganado diez de las once pruebas disputadas hasta el momento en el Circuito de Carreras Populares.
Club Saturno / Daimiel Noticias.- Esther Jiménez de los Galanes volvía a subir a lo más alto del podio el pasado sábado por la noche, en la Carrera de las Antorchas de Villanueva de los Infantes (10 kilómetros). Alfonso Navarro quedó subcampeón entre los chicos. Cerca de 700 participantes disputaban la prueba, 47 de ellos del club daimieleño, lo que les sirvió para conseguir el premio al conjunto más numeroso.

Con ocho atletas entre los treinta primeros, y diecinueve entre los cien mejores, los saturnos consiguieron sumar otros cinco podios. Ramona Trujillo era cuarta de la general y segunda entre las M35 (premio de primera por no acumulabilidad); Israel Prado quinto de la general y primero M3; Álvaro Honrado y Arturo Díaz del Campo quedaban cuarto-quinto en sénior, subiendo al podio como segundo-tercero por no acumulabilidad; y, por último, segundo puesto de Andrés Fernández-Calvillo entre los veteranos E.
Aparte de los siete podios, entre los diez primeros de sus respectivas categorías llegaron otros 10 atletas: Manuel Díaz del Campo (4º M40), Sergio Rodríguez-Barbero (6º sénior), Samuel Pozuelo (9º M35), Raúl Javier Moreno (8º M40), José Antonio Martín (10º M45), Carmen Giménez de los Galanes (7ª M35), Rosana Calderón (5ª M40), Beatriz Rodríguez-Peral (9ª M35), Carmen Redondo (10ª M35) y María José Gómez-Limón (5ª M50). En las Carreras Mini, medalla de bronce para Carlos Pareja en categoría cadete.
Por equipos, décima victoria del año, cuando se llevan disputadas 11 de las 18 pruebas de la temporada.

El domingo, en la carrera popular de Las Lagunas de Villafranca de los Caballeros (Toledo), sobre 9 kilómetros, tercer puesto de la general para Juan Francisco Fernández y cuarto para Higinio Gallego (primero veterano A por no acumulabilidad), mientras Ramona Trujillo era 3ª veterana A.

La próxima cita en la agenda del Club Saturno ‘Iberfirmes’ es la séptima edición de Jugando al Atletismo, una actividad de promoción dirigida a niños en edad escolar, a la que podrán inscribirse de manera gratuita desde las 11.00 en el Parque del Carmen, donde, desde las 11.30, se desarrollarán los diferentes juegos y ejercicios de iniciación.
En cuanto a la competición, del 5 al 16 de septiembre tendrá lugar el Mundial de Atletismo Máster en Málaga, y allí competirán varios representantes del club. Con respecto al Circuito Provincial, regresará el 9 de septiembre con la Media Maratón Ciudad Real – Torralba.
