Poco a poco, nos vamos enterando de las personas que nos han dejado, víctimas del coronavirus. Lamentablemente, han sido muchas. Quien más, quien menos, hemos llorado ante la dramática tragedia que nos está tocando vivir. Bajas inesperadas, imprevistas, por el mortal y traicionero ataque del “bicho”. Y condiciones aciagas, duras, plenas de tristeza, muy de lamentar. Abuelos, padres, hermanos…., se nos fueron solos, sin la cercanía de su familia, ante las rígidas medidas sanitarias de prevención. Vivencias inéditas para nuestra generación.
El adiós que no pudimos dar a cada uno de los nuestros, ha quedado simbolizado en La Cruz de Los Cerrillos. Un daimieleño, creyente y persona de honor, ha sentido el impulso de erigir un recuerdo como homenaje eterno a quienes se nos fueron en la pandemia, y a quienes, sin ser victimas del virus, también nos abandonaron, en la soledad, sin la compañía cercana, ni mano transmisora de cariño, amor y afecto en el último aliento; no fueron velados ni despedidos por los suyos, dada la drástica norma preventiva durante los dos fatídicos meses.
Sirviéndose de rollizos antiguos de la añeja casa de labor “Las Encinas”, Jesús Pozuelo Clemente, ha convertido en realidad su propósito, construyendo una Cruz y enclavándola en lo alto de un montículo, cerrillo coronado con piedras calizas de nuestra tierra, evocando guiño al calvario de la soledad de los recordados en su adiós a la vida. Jesús Pozuelo Clemente ha querido fijar en dicho enclave, a través de La Cruz , un recuerdo permanente para ellos, con la perdurable ofrenda floral de romero, tomillos , hinojos, juncos , carrizos , masiega , y vegetación palustre, más los cereales, viñas y olivos de Daimiel. Paisaje ideal, bucólico, de belleza natural. Lugar inspirador para el poeta, espacio para la reflexión, sentado en cualquier piedra del cerrillo, para abstraerte en la contemplación de lo que se ofrece a los ojos. Tablas de Daimiel, silueta quebrada de la Sierra de Villarrubia, en cercana lejanía marcada por parajes tradicionales e históricos de nuestro pueblo, lugares de rancio abolengo.

La Cañada Mendoza, Calabazas, Las Cañas, la cercanía de Reina de los Ángeles, guardarán La Cruz desde sus tierras, llenas de vida, con la naturaleza dejándose sentir, aromas reconocibles, esencias de Daimiel, flora , fauna y labor humana.
Cruz humilde, representación de lo divino y lo humano, construida desde un sentimiento místico, sincero, con gran carga de amor hacia el ser humano. Se nos fueron en soledad, pero mientras continúen en nuestros recuerdos, siempre tendrán vida entre nosotros. La Cruz de Los Cerrillos ya reconforta, con dedicatoria del propio artífice de esta Cruz artesana, a pie del madero, evocando la soledad del fallecido, lejos de los suyos, aunque tal vez aferrado a la Cruz de sus convicciones. La Cruz de los Cerrillos, estela testimonial, símbolo de recuerdo y homenaje eterno para los daimieleños que sucumbieron en la cruel pandemia. “In memoriam”.
