El Ayuntamiento de Daimiel se ha unido al minuto de silencio convocado este martes a las 12:00 horas en recuerdo de las víctimas de la pandemia de coronavirus. El equipo de Gobierno, algunos otros miembros de la Corporación Municipal, junto a representantes de Policía local y algunos vecinos, se ha concentrado en la Plaza de España, frente a la puerta del Consistorio, en un gesto de respecto a los fallecidos.

Daimiel Noticias. – Este miércoles han comenzado los diez días de luto oficial decretados por el Gobierno Central en recuerdo a las víctimas de la pandemia de Covid-19. A las 12:00 horas se ha convocado un minuto de silencio al que el Ayuntamiento de Daimiel se ha unido junto a algunos vecinos de la localidad, que se han concentrado en la Plaza de España, frente a la puerta del Consistorio. El alcalde, Leopoldo Sierra, junto a algunos integrantes de la Corporación Municipal, y representantes de la Policía Local, se han sumado a este gesto de respeto a los fallecidos.

Tras su finalización, el primer edil recordó a los medios de comunicación que Daimiel declaró el luto el 28 de marzo mediante decreto de Alcaldía. Leopoldo Sierra ha indicado que hasta el pasado viernes se han registrado 120 sepelios en el cementerio municipal desde el confinamiento. “La semana pasada hubo dos”, comenta. El alcalde daimieleño ha precisado que “se desconoce cuantos de esos fallecidos son por coronavirus”, aunque “desde la tercera semana de abril se está volviendo a la normalidad en el número de enterramientos semanales”. Más allá de las cifras, Sierra recalcaba la pérdida que supone entre amigos y familiares que, indicaba, “no han podido despedirse como quisieran”. De ahí, explicaba, el acto de afecto que suponen este tipo de homenajes.

Por eso, manifestó que en Daimiel se despedirá “como merecen” a todas aquellas personas que han perdido la vida estas semanas dentro de una convocatoria que se oficializará una vez concluido el estado de alarma. En ella se contempla la colaboración de las parroquias y de la hermandad de la Patrona Virgen de las Cruces, entre otras entidades. A falta de concreciones, Sierra insistía en que “hay que esperar acontecimientos”.
