El antiguo complejo industrial CIVINASA, en la calle Extramuros, junto a la estación de ferrocarril, conservaba una singular estructura metálica que se alzaba hasta los cincuenta metros de altura. Era la chimenea para humos que se instaló en el año 1990, dentro de un proyecto de medidas correctoras en dicho complejo industrial. Su forma cilíndrica, que ofrecía menos resistencia al viento, se podía observar desde distintos lugares de Daimiel, siendo una referencia visual emblemática de nuestra ciudad. El proyecto fue diseñado por el ingeniero industrial D. Tomás Sánchez Rodríguez, utilizándose chapa de acero inoxidable de 10 mm., siendo sujetada al suelo por tensores de venteado al objeto de lograr su estabilidad.
En época reciente, la histórica empresa ya dirigida por distintas personas y enfocada su productividad a diversos sectores, desde el vino hasta sus derivados, se trasladó a las modernas y amplias instalaciones del Polígono “El Campillo”, en la carretera de Valdepeñas, quedando las obsoletas instalaciones en desuso, contemplando la simbólica chimenea el paso de la historia de Daimiel desde su erguida posición de vigía. Los tiempos cambian, nos amoldamos a ello y estas conocidas y populares construcciones históricas, pasan a la posteridad.
La acreditada empresa del sector metalúrgico, FERROAL GRUPO, también de Daimiel, fue la encargada del desmantelamiento de la representativa chimenea de “La Olivi”, empleando para ello los medios técnicos necesarios para desarrollar dicha tarea con toda garantía de precisión y seguridad, al disponer la compañía de personal técnico cualificado y maquinaria idónea, además de la contratada, para tan delicada función.
En las fotografías que se acompañan, se observa con detalle lo referido en este artículo, quedando la melancólica imagen de “La Olivi” sin su emblemática chimenea.
