Nunca ha sido fácil escribir para transmitir mensaje. Nunca fue fácil trabajar adquiriendo información del pasado para  adaptarla a un libro de hoy. Y cuando la historia juega papel fundamental, la dificultad se acrecienta. Es necesaria buena dosis de paciencia, tranquilidad emocional e ideas concretas y muy claras para lograr que salga a la luz un libro que a buen seguro llegará al gran público. Y no dejará indiferente al personal.
Ismael Terriza, periodista daimieleño, ha publicado su primer libro tras un arduo trabajo de recopilación realizado en los últimos siete años, tras contínuos contactos con personas que le han transmitido gran parte de la historia que sirve de base a este texto, elaborado con trabajo y análisis profundos y ajustados a los tiempos referidos en el ejemplar.

El periodista, de la plantilla de Onda Cero, presentó su primera publicación Cruz con Martillo, libro de más de 600 páginas que contempla en su  narrativa hechos acontecidos en Daimiel durante la II República y comienzos de la Guerra Civil. En palabras del autor “lo esencial del libro es dar forma a todas las historias que me han transmitido más de medio centenar de personas con las que me he entrevistado, así como periódicos y documentos consultados, que conforman el espíritu de Daimiel de la época, descubriendo desde el pasado como somos en el presente.”
Cruz con Martillo, la República en un burgo podrido, es prologado por Pedro María Lozano, doctor en Bellas Artes, interviniendo a su vez en este acto de presentación. Alberto Celis, historiador y amigo del periodista daimieleño, aportó ideas para el guión del legado, así como Jesualdo Sánchez Bustos, veterano cronista de Daimiel. Trece ilustraciones originales del artista local Juan Fco. Gómez Cambronero, creadas para el tomo en cuestión, enriquecen el contenido del mismo. El diseño, maquetación y portada corresponde a José Luis Marchán, valorado artista creativo local.
La presentación, dirigida por el locutor de Radio Daimiel Isidro López de Toro, contó con la asistencia del Alcalde, Leopoldo Sierra, así como varios miembros de la Corporación, en un Espacio Fisac, templo de la cultura, repleto de público que aguardó para la dedicatoria personal del autor al concluir el multitudinario evento. Otra gran fiesta de la cultura en Daimiel, muy relanzada por parte de esta generación pujante y con inquietudes.
