Ilusión, divertimento, ganas de pasarlo bien, baile, fiesta, desfogue, disfraces… cachondeo a tope. Pues ya llegan estos días de carnaval, una semana de locura controlada para despedirnos, en teoría, de los placeres mundanos hasta pasada la Cuaresma, según la tradición popular. La fiesta del carnaval, esa celebración irreverente que se produce en plena calle, la mantiene el pueblo, principal protagonista a su vez de la puesta en escena que conllevan las actividades o representaciones callejeras de estos días.
Charangas, peñas, chirigotas, comparsas, murgas y además asociaciones, trabajan a lo largo del año en las ideas que en carnaval vemos representadas por las calles de Daimiel.
Se lo curran los miembros de estos grupos, con la ilusión de obtener premios para las finanzas del año que viene y, además, pasárselo bien.
En nuestra ciudad, el martes de Carnestolendas o Martes de Carnaval, popularmente llamado «día del Río», es cuando se produce la máxima explosión, con la salida a la calle de las «máscaras guarronas», después de haber desfilado en días anteriores la Cofradía de «Los Rotos», los grupos infantiles, las asociaciones de la tercera edad, el magno desfile de carrozas, charangas y peñas…, sin olvidarnos de la proclamación de la «máscara guarrona» y los posteriores espectáculos del entierro de la sardina, los monólogos con afamados monologuistas y el Baile de la Bruja final. Total, que Daimiel anda bien servido en este desmadre civilizado y muy ordenado, valga la incongruencia, mucho mérito de peñas y comparsas, que viven intensa e incansablemente el carnaval, con lo que cansan esos días de regocijo agotador. El caso es que cada año se superan en todo: carrozas, bailes, músicas, escenografía, maquillajes… y con la «supervisión» del gran Juan Moya –Charlot-, guardián imprescindible todos los años para que la «procesión» discurra en orden. Empresas daimieleñas y Ayuntamiento, colaboran en la realización de esta popular manifestación, pero los verdaderos artífices que hacen brillar el carnaval son los actores anónimos que desfilan y se disfrazan durante estos días de cachondeo y expansión.
