Conocido como Berlanga, el fundador de la asociación cultural Bolote y destacado conocedor e impulsor de la cultura folk daimieleña, fue despedido este jueves por amigos, familiares y compañeros de su andadura folclórica tras fallecer a los 91 años. Manuel García Muñoz recibió la Medalla de Honor Ciudad de Daimiel 2018 por su contribución al mantenimiento de la cultura y raíces locales.

Daimiel Noticias. – Manuel García-Muñoz, conocido popularmente como “Berlanga” falleció este miércoles a los 91 años. El daimieleño, uno de los promotores del folclore daimieleño desde los años 40, miembro fundador de la asociación cultural Bolote y persona muy involucrado en la formación de entidades como la Junta de Hermandades de Semana Santa de Daimiel, fue despedido este jueves en la iglesia de San Pedro por amigos, familiares y compañeros de su andadura folclórica. El alcalde, Leopoldo Sierra, también se sumaba al adiós del que fuera Medalla de Honor Ciudad de Daimiel 2018 por su contribución al mantenimiento de la cultura popular, dedicación a la música y a las raíces locales, lamentando su pérdida.

García Muñoz también pregonó la Feria de hace dos años, acompañado de la rondalla de mayores Genio y Figura que también dirigía y de la asociación Virgen de las Cruces de la que igualmente formaba parte e impartía clases a través de la Escuela local de Folclore.
