El pasado 15 de julio se celebró el Campeonato de España de Duatlón en tierras castellanoleonesas, siendo Almazán (Soria), la localidad encargada de albergar dicho campeonato. Un campeonato nacional, en el que cabe reseñar con mayúsculas, la gran actuación que tuvo el atleta daimieleño Adrián Garzás Muñoz de Morales, ya que estuvo a punto de conseguir arañar metal en el citado campeonato, concluyendo en una más que meritoria quinta posición final en la categoría de GE (20-24 años).
Adrián tuvo que completar un recorrido compuesto de 6 km a pie; 20km de BTT y para concluir, nuevamente 3km a pié. El daimieleño, que tuvo muy cerca el podium, pagó el esfuerzo realizado en el primer tramo de cross, en donde ocupaba puesto podium, en la prueba de bicicleta de montaña, y aunque volvió a recuperar puestos en el segundo tramo de cross, tuvo que conformarse que la quinta posición final en este Campeonato de España.
Con esta participación en el nacional, Adrían, que milita en el conjunto toledano del Tritoledo, prácticamente pone fin a una temporada larga en la que ha cosechado grandes resultados en la misma, pudiendo decirse que el daimileño ha finalizado con un notable alto la presente temporada.
