A raíz de un evento concreto celebrado en Daimiel en el Pabellón Cubierto y que fue organizado por Fedada, hace de esto seis años, un grupo de aficionados de nuestra localidad deciden agruparse y fundan el actual club de Scalextric Calatrava Slot. Este reportaje pretende sacar a la luz las actividades e instalaciones de esta Asociación que aunque no son muy conocidas, poco a poco se han ido integrando en las actividades lúdicas, deportivas y sociales de Daimiel.

La Asociación Calatrava Slot, conocida entre la gente en general como Slot-Scalextric, cuenta en la actualidad con once socios, además de grupos de aficionados de Ciudad Real, Socuéllamos, Tomelloso y Fuensalida, yendo al alza el número de participantes. Las diversas modalidades dentro del Slot -Rally, Raid y Velocidad- conllevan a la organización durante la temporada de diversos campeonatos por cada modalidad, en unas instalaciones ubicadas en la calle D. Tiburcio 45, amplio local en el que se disfruta de diversos tramos de circuito adaptados para Rally y Raid. En otro local, cedido gentilmente por nuestro Ayuntamiento y situado en el edificio del antiguo Círculo, se encuentra emplazado el circuito de Velocidad.

Como se puede comprobar a través de las fotografías que acompañan el reportaje, se dispone de espacio cómodo y suficiente para las prácticas de esta afición, moderna y, cada vez más fascinante, ya que en las fechas puntuales en que se celebran jornadas de puertas abiertas, cada vez es mayor el aumento de aficionados que simpatizan con las actividades de la Asociación Calatrava Slot.

Su actual presidente, Jesús Melero Ruíz de Pascual, invita a los daimieleños al VI Trofeo de Feria y Fiestas Scalextric Rally Slot, que se celebrará el próximo 9 de septiembre en la sede de la calle D. Tiburcio 45, en jornada de puertas abiertas desde las  10 h. hasta las 21 h. con la consiguiente entrega de trofeos.

Se espera en esta ocasión superar el número de asistentes, que ya en anteriores ocasiones excedieron varias decenas de personas. Asociación Calatrava Slot propone carreras y exhibición en sus circuitos de coches y camiones en Rally, Raid y Velocidad, dentro del Trofeo de Feria “Rally Motilla del Azuer”.
