EL RECLAMO DE LAS GRULLAS

Las visitas al Parque Nacional de Las Tablas aumentan por estas fechas al reclamo de las grullas, aves proclives a lugares abiertos encontrando en el hábitat natural de Daimiel entorno y paraje apropiado para hibernar.

Bandadas de esta especie ya ocupan espacios interiores del Parque, donde con sus largos picos se alimentan de semillas y brotes de plantas.

En sus zonas habituales de cría, las bajas temperaturas propias de esta época del año invitan al viaje migratorio de estas enormes aves en busca de parajes más cálidos, siendo Daimiel uno de los lugares donde la naturaleza propicia el destino de grullas procedentes del Norte de Europa.

Ejercen gran atractivo entre el personal estas aves tan peculiares, de gran tamaño y sonido inconfundible al paso de la ruidosa y bullanguera comitiva voladora, con gran jarana que gusta ser escuchada y contemplada por ornitólogos, aficionados y conocedores del mundo de las aves en general.

De aspecto elegante por su figura estilizada, el plumaje grisáceo las identifica con cierta facilidad. Recorren miles de Kilómetros hasta encontrar en Las Tablas, entre otros lugares de España, cobijo para su temporada desde octubre hasta marzo aproximadamente.

Grupos de cientos de grullas, “grus-grus”, se alternan a su vez con otros más reducidos, de tipo familiar, compuestos por adultos y más jóvenes. Vuelan en forma de V, emitiendo sonidos con graznidos inconfundibles de esta especie, provocados en su vuelo con intenciones animosas para las que marcan delante la velocidad del animado grupo ,de talante solidario cuando se trata de alentar a los ejemplares más débiles o enfermos.

El “trompeteo” de la hembra genera espectáculo en su contemplación, con “cortejos nupciales” entre parejas de por vida, son monógamas de lazo indestructible de por vida, cierto “romanticismo” transmite este bello animal, que curiosamente duerme de pie y siempre con los pies en el agua, de ahí que Las Tablas reúna condición ideal para sus costumbres. No son muy amigas de los agricultores por aquello de “zamparse” si pueden las siembras, pero en general son aves de buen agüero, se la considera “el ave de la paz”.

El atractivo de las grullas no cabe duda genera expectación e interés, siendo un señuelo muy peculiar para volver a visitar en esta larga temporada nuestro Parque Nacional.
