¡¡Y QUE NO IBA A ARDER!! Hasta San Antón, Pascuas son.

Pues ya se han terminado las Pascuas. Los polvorones, alfajores o mantecados que queden por ahí rodando, ya se los pueden zampar porque las pascuas se han terminado. El Guarrillo de San Antón y la hoguera en “el Altillo”, marcan cada año, como es tradicional, el fin de las celebraciones navideñas. A partir de hoy, al gimnasio y a la dieta, cubatas fuera, cervezas con moderación y vino es justa cantidad, sin olvidarnos en ningún momento de la frase cumbre de Rajoy: “¡¡Viva el vino!!”.

Y fue así como nos recibieron en “el Altillo”, el sábado 19 de Enero, ya de noche, los organizadores y componentes de la Peña Equina Rocinante, promotores con la colaboración del Ayuntamiento, junto al parque de Bomberos, de la fiesta de San Antón, con hoguera, limoná y pitos tostaos en cantidades generosas para el numeroso público, que a pesar de las inclemencias meteorológicas, acudieron pertrechados de paraguas, bufandas y buenos abrigos para cumplir con la tradición en honor al Santo.

Con anterioridad, a las cuatro de la tarde, se había celebrado la clásica vuelta a Santa María de animales y dueños, tras recibir todos la bendición eclesiástica por parte del párroco D. Valentín Sánchez Rojas, con el secular panecillo bendito junto a los castizos pitos tostaos.

O sea, que entre pitos y flautas, el Mayoral del Año, D. José Pozuelo Roldán, Pepe Pozuelo para los amigos, prendió fuego al anochecer a la pira acumulada en la plazoleta de San Antón, sin que la fina lluvia fuera inconveniente para el chamuscado y posterior flameado de la gran hoguera. EL Mayoral de hogaño, frecuenta la vida entre la naturaleza y el mundo animal, de modo habitual, a caballo –nunca mejor dicho- entre Madrid y Daimiel. Jubilado, pero aún en edad de merecer, el daimieleño de pura cepa, antiguo farmacéutico en un barrio castizo de Madrid, manifestó “el deseo de que esta celebración continúe y vaya a más. Daimiel, históricamente ha dependido mucho de los animales, esto no hay que olvidarlo, sino al contrario, incentivar y fomentar el evento”. En cuanto al título honorífico de Mayoral del Año, expresó su “agradecimiento y satisfación, ya que este galardón no se otorga ni por antigüedad ni por sorteo, sino por el cariño y afecto de mis paisanos”.

El Presidente de la Peña Equina, Luis Miguel Romero del Hombrebueno Fernández de Marcos, Concejales del Ayuntamiento y pueblo llano, presenciaron las chucas y las llamaradas que no se mejoran ni en las mismísimas calderas de Pedro Botero. ¡Qué zorrera más hermosa, qué olores más naturales y qué bronca de la parienta al llegar a casa con retraso y oliendo a chamusquina! Son secuelas anuales en esta celebración con la recompensa de que si llevas la papeleta premiada almacena en tu alacena al “Guarrillo de San Antón” ya troceado, que no es moco de pavo, aunque alguien de los presentes prometió degustar el manjar bendito en las ascuas de la misma hoguera, si le tocaba, claro. Qué rico el Guarrillo.¡¡Qué viva San Antón!! Y el año que viene, más.
